Good afternoon Booksellers' fans, we're halfway through our lovely love campaign. I hope you've already posted a comment, and if you haven't go ahead and do it or if you have, post another one! Below is a repost from one of the petition updates that I posted early on in the petition history. It's one of the questions I get the most often and I hope this clarifies this for you if you have this question:

"On to the big question of the day: “Should Booksellers consider moving to another location?” Short Answer: No Long Answer: While I believe moving to a new location is a potential option for saving Booksellers, I do not believe it should be the first option explored. Moving to a new location could potentially cause more problems than necessary. If our bookstore were to move locations, it would be closed longer than if staying in the same location and just restocking the store (if a financial backer decides to invest in the store). The novelty and location of Booksellers has also been a key aspect of their success. Booksellers is just about the only bookstore in Memphis with new release books and author signings. This is why Booksellers has been such a popular destination for book lovers, and food lovers alike. It’s also located just a few miles away from several large middle and high schools that are in that area. For the Laurelwood Shopping Center, The Booksellers at Laurelwood has been a hotspot of activity and has brought more customers to the dozen or so local businesses nearby. We should consider the number of local businesses that might be hurt by the relocation of such an important store. It would create a sort of domino effect that could result in hurting all the local businesses in that area. The space where Booksellers is located is also what makes it unique. It’s hard to find another bookstore in a hundred-mile radius where you can browse a massive bookstore, grab some lunch, and let you kids stay occupied in the reading and activity area. I’m not ruling out relocating as an option, I’m simply suggesting that it shouldn’t be our first option. We should let the current situation play out and hope for a local investor willing to invest not only their financial resources, but also their time in improving the store and preventing this situation from happening to our beloved store ever again."
